Mental Health and Stress
A Thrive Week event, this 90-minute interactive session explores the powerful connection between mind and body through a nervous system lens, helping participants better understand how mental health is shaped by physiological responses. We鈥檒l dive into the four primary stress responses - fight, flight, freeze, and fawn - and how they show up uniquely in everyday life, from personal relationships to workplace dynamics. If you鈥檝e ever felt overwhelmed, reactive, shut down, or 鈥渙ff,鈥 this session will help you recognize what dysregulation looks like for you and why it happens. More importantly, participants will leave with practical, accessible strategies to support a return to regulation, tools that can be applied in real time, both at home and at work. This isn鈥檛 about getting it 鈥渞ight鈥 all the time; it鈥檚 about building awareness, practicing new skills, and approaching mental health with intention and self-understanding. You can attend in person at DH 2002 (2nd floor of Gushue Hall, St. John's campus) or virtually.
