Community updates

May 5, 2026: The Board of Regents has approved Memorial’s 2026–27 operating budget, taking deliberate steps to strengthen long-term financial sustainability through cost reduction, strategic reallocation of resources and the creation of a contingency fund. The board has also approved a one-time Voluntary Retirement Program. .


March 6, 2026: Jennifer Lokash, Provost and Vice-President (Academic) and Alison Horton, Vice-President (Finance and Administration) are pleased to share an update with the university community regarding the leadership and implementation of Memorial’s new budget model. .

Dec. 10, 2024: On Dec. 9, President Neil Bose hosted an employee town hall to hall to provide all employees with additional information and answer their questions regarding the university’s budget. The recording is now available online.  (MUN login required).


Dec. 6, 2024: President Neil Bose published a  regarding the Board of Regents approval of new initiatives aimed at addressing the projected funding shortfall.

On Monday, Dec. 9, from 2-3 p.m. (NST)/2:30-3:30 (AST), there will be a virtual town hall to share information related to recent budget initiatives for ÌÇÐÄAPP employees. Hosted by President Neil Bose, faculty and staff are invited to learn more about Memorial’s budget process. A Newsline was sent to all employees with a link to register.
