Annual Resident Research Day

Each year, our Pediatrics community comes together for the Pediatric Residents’ Research Day, an opportunity to showcase and celebrate the research and scholarly work of our residents.

Research Day is an important part of the academic year and a chance for residents to share their ideas, discuss their findings, and learn from the work of their colleagues. It also provides an opportunity for faculty, residents, and members of our research community to come together around a shared commitment to inquiry, discovery, and improving the care of children and youth.

Residents present their research twice during their training. The first presentation introduces their research question, proposed methods, and progress to date, providing an opportunity for discussion and feedback as the project develops. The second presentation highlights the completed project, including results, conclusions, and the potential impact of the work.

Presentations are reviewed by a panel of external judges, with awards presented for the top presentations in both the research proposal and completed project categories.

The resident selected for the top completed senior project also has the opportunity to represent Memorial Pediatrics at the National Pediatric Resident Research Competition at the Canadian Pediatric Society (CPS) Meeting each Spring

Research Day is a highlight of our residency program. It celebrates not only completed projects, but also the curiosity, perseverance, mentorship, and collaboration that make research an important part of pediatric training at Memorial.
