5.2 Application Forms and Deadlines

1. The application for admission/readmission to programs offered by the School of Social Work is submitted online. The application for admission or readmission to the University is submitted online at www.mun.ca/undergrad/admissions/apply.

2. The Bachelor of Social Work as a First Degree and as a Second Degree programs commence in the Fall semester. The deadline for application for admission/readmission to both programs is March 1. Students are encouraged to submit their applications as early as possible.听The application deadline for readmission to the winter semester of the BSW program is September 15. To be considered for readmission to the Bachelor of Social Work program, applicants must have completed a minimum of one Social Work course in the Bachelor of Social Work program within the last three years.

3. Applications received after the deadline and incomplete applications will not be considered.

4. A complete application package includes an application to the University (for those who have not attended 糖心APP in the three preceding semesters), an application to the School, and submission of one required supplemental document that includes:

• A 500-word personal statement indicating why the applicant would be a suitable candidate for the BSW program. Applicants may focus on experiences (personal, volunteer and/or work), community involvement, motivation, values, skills, interests and critical reflection of social location.

• A听summary in table format that highlights all the applicant鈥檚 work and volunteer experience, and/or community involvment related to human services.

Further information about these supplemental documents is available within the online application. Incomplete applications will not be considered for the BSW program.
